Thanks to the LITENET hlighting management system, the employees are now able to adjust the light exactly to their needs. The luminaires installed include SLOTLIGHT infinity, LIGHT FIELDS, ONDARIA and CAELA.

Zumtobel. The Light.

That’s what the new headquarters of one of Milan’s largest logistics companies looks like. A dark 1970s building has been transformed into a modern, open and transparent complex. The main components: aluminium, glass, stone. Zumtobel was particularly inspired by the building’s large-scale use of glass when designing the lighting solution. One that combines artificial light with daylight. And that uses the MIREL evolution and PANOS infinity dimmable luminaires.

One of the flattest surface-mounted luminaires in our range. With very high lighting efficiency. No wonder then, that MIREL evolution, which was developed jointly with the STUDIO AMBROZUS design office, is a frequently used luminaire – above all for office and educational lighting. Whether as an individual pendant version or a continuous row with loop-through wiring. It meets with approval for new build projects thanks to the wide variety of modules and variants, but is also just the right solution for refurbishment projects. In standard and slim designs, easy and cost-effective 1:1 replacement of the old fluorescent lamp technology is possible without additional effort. Simply remove the old luminaire and insert the new luminaire.

Whether installed around a corner, in the ceiling or along a wall – it is seamlessly integrated. We also supply it as a pendant luminaire. With SLOTLIGHT infinity's slim shape and integration in the wall, it is possible to see room geometries more clearly and redefine room zones, creating an uncluttered ceiling look and ideal lighting of the rooms. A study by the University of Aalborg has shown the motivation behind the use of light by teachers as a learning support and structuring element in lessons. At the push of a button, the different lighting scenes of the ONDARIA II tunableWhite luminaires immerse the classrooms of the Herstedlund School in Denmark in an atmosphere which is conducive to learning. Bright or dimmed, with stimulating blue share or with cosy reddish scene. A perfect pilot project!

In teaching or advisory roles, employees from Zumtobel support educational institutions such as the technical universities in Graz, Darmstadt and Liechtenstein. At the renowned Central Saint Martins University of the Arts in London, Zumtobel recently collaborated with students, experts and architectural studios on an innovation research project. At the end of the project, the top five students selected from the group of 60 were invited by Zumtobel to visit its headquarters in Dornbirn – for a meeting that would benefit both sides.

The new Zumtobel microsite showcases the potential benefits of the various light colours, luminance levels and control options – and demonstrates how the emotional qualities of natural white light can be perfectly captured indoors. Whether the solution is used in office environments, shops, industry or even museums, the light will not only adapt to whatever people are doing and their mood but also complement the spatial setting.

This results in a feeling of cosiness, with the light aiding concentration and helping to ensure that everyone’s needs are met – visually, emotionally and biologically.
