What is the EU Data Act?
The EU Data Act is an European regulation designed to ensure fair access to and use of data generated by connected products and related digital services within the European Union. It aims to increase transparency, enable data-driven innovation, and give users greater control over the data they generate.
Who does the EU Data Act apply to?
The EU Data Act applies to:
  • Manufacturers of connected products
  • Providers of related digital services
  • Business and professional users of such products and services
  • Data holders and data recipients operating in the European Union
As a provider of connected lighting products and related digital services we are affected by the EU Data Act.
What does this mean for customers and partners?
Under the EU Data Act, customers and business users may benefit from:
  • Greater transparency regarding data generated by connected products
  • The right to access certain data they generate when using connected products and services
  • The ability to request data sharing with third parties under defined legal conditions
